The Ancestral House is the sacred place and representative space of the unique culture of the Inga Resguardos of the Baja Bota Caucana. It is the house where the tulpa, self-governance, the kitchen, the chagra, dance, weaving, craftsmanship, and the meeting point between visitors and inhabitants are present. This is the space where one can find the Governor of the Resguardo, women, community members, and visitors. The communal tulpa of the Resguardo will remain lit in this space, preserving the memory of the ancestors and materializing the connection with nature and spirituality. On the few walls, the weaving is displayed and imprinted to ensure that the culture does not disappear. It is a place where the elders narrate how the ancestors lived, and where young people reflect on how they want to live today. This space embraces both daily tasks and the sacred moments of the Inga way of life.
